Kibale Forest National
Park
Located
in the southwestern part of Uganda, Kibale forest is famous
for chimpanzee walk and bird watching.
Activities: Primate walk that lasts for 2-4 hours, highlighting
the diversity of different animals and plant species within
the forest; a community walk that takes you to visit the Bigodi
wetland sanctuary situated in Magombe swamp and known for
its wide range of bio diversity;and a 64 km guided forest
walk for butterfly watching, bird watching.
See: The black and white colubus, blue monkey
and grey-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies
and pottos. Kibale Forest National Park also hosts over 325
species of birds including the yellow spotted nicator, the
Great Blue Turaco, the yellow rumped tinkerbird, little greenbul,
green breasted pitta, the African pitta, the crowned eagle
and the black bee-eater. There are a number of impressive
mammals including forest elephants, buffalos, bush pigs, duikers
and bats.
144 species of colorful butterflies and over 250 tree species
have been recorded
