Lake Mburo National Park
Situated between the towns of Masaka and Mbarara in the west, 3.5
hours drive from Kampala, Lake Mburo is a small park with an extensive
area of wetland
composed of grassland and acacia woodland.
At the center is Lake Mburo together with other 14 lakes
which form an extensive wetland area. Its sculptured landscape
with rolling grassy hills and idyllic lakeshores has a varied
mosaic of habitats: forest galleries, rich acacia tree valleys
and swamps.
Activities: Game viewing, Canoeing, fishing,
guided nature trail walks, a walk to the salt lick area to
see different species licking the salty soil and bird watching.
