6 days/5 nights Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest
and Queen Elizabeth Parks.
Visit Murchison falls national park and see the awesome
falls on the River Nile.
Drive through the scenic tea plantations to the amazing Kibale Forest
National park, a tropical rain forest with groups of habituated
chimpanzees. Explore Queen Elizabeth park with its amazing diversity
and enormous variety of wildlife.
Day1 After breakfast take the journey
from Kampala through Uganda’s beautiful country side to Masindi
and on to the Murchison falls National park,spotting the game en
route. We'll take the ferry to the north bank and check in at the
Paara Safari Lodge.
Relaxing,dinner and over night.
Day2 After breakfast ,we will take
a launch trip to the Murchison falls described by Churchill as being
like Regent’s Park zoo and Kew Gardens combined. We’ll
pass pods of hippos, crocs, vast number of exotic birds and butterflies
(in Murchison, there over 300 varieties) and myriad wildlife coming
to the water to drink. We may also be able to see the legendary
shoebill .The falls themselves are one of Africa’s wonders,
the whole of Victoria Nile bursting majestically through a six meter
gap to an awesome forty meter drop.
In the afternoon we’ll experience our first scenic game drive
in the park that will include Uganda Kob, elephant, lion, giraffe,
antelope, a vast of eagles and much more. Dinner and overnight at
Paara Safari lodge.
Day 3
Today we’ll leave early in the morning and trace a route via
Masindi and Hoima(where we’ll take a picnic lunch),past lake
Albert towards the legendary “Mountains of the moon”
We’ll arrive at the delightful tea plantation town of Fortportal
in the foothills of the mountains in time for dinner at Rwenzori
View Guest House. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4
Another early departure-but well its worth. We are on our way to
Kibale forest with its enormous variety of primates and its families
of habituated chimpanzees.It is home to an astonishing 12 species
of primates and provides one of the highest primate densities in
the world. Here on our guided forest walk ,we may find families
of chimps and red colobus monkeys chattering and swinging through
the ancient forest trees.The bird life species are at least 325,and
there are a variety of butterflies. Kibale Forest,with its ancient
trees of up to 55 meters in height is a wonderful place to experience
at first hand,the extra-ordinary diversity of life in a tropical
rainforest.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge. All rooms with private
facilities.
Day 5
After breakfast, we’ll take a morning game drive in the park.
Look for the prides of the lion and herds of the elephant. Buffalo,bush
back and kob are quite common here.
In the afternoon, we’ll take the launch trip to explore the
Kazinga channel; here we’ll see the scores of the buffalo
close to the waterside often with the elephants and the rare leopard
prowling. The bird life on the water is fascinating and we’ll
see dozens of bee-eaters and pied kingfishers .Dinner and overnight
at Mweya Safari lodge.
Day 6
After breakfast, we depart for Kampala arriving in the early afternoon.
Includes:4x4 vehicle with a driver/tour guide,fuel,
gorilla tracking permits and chimpanzee tracking fees,all park entry
fees, full board accommodation, launch trips, ranger guide fees
and ferry crossing fees.
Does not include: Lunches en route, refreshments, drinks and bar bills,
tips and disbursements of a personal nature
